About this release
Future Legends is a new series for whiskies we believe could become legends in their own right. We select casks with exceptional quality at bottling and the potential to compete with the greats after years of bottle maturation, sometimes known as the “Old Bottle Effect”. Time and your reviews will tell whether we got it right. Expect mature whiskies from established distilleries, with classic bourbon and sherry cask profiles — styles we believe offer the greatest potential.
This time we turned to the warehouses of Ben Nevis and chose a 26-year-old whisky from a 1st fill Sherry Pedro Ximénez cask. There is an unusual story behind this bottling: the whisky was filled into bottles nearly eighteen months ago for the Asian market, but an unfortunate turn of events meant it never left the warehouse in Scotland. When we had the chance to taste it — and then to acquire the bottles and release it under our own label — we did not hesitate. We were struck by how closely it resembled our special Ben Nevis 1998, released for The Taste of Whisky’s 10th anniversary. Less than two years later, we found another cask that impressed us at first sight, and we knew it belonged in this new series.

Long, earthy and dry.
