Glenfarclas is one of the few Scottish distilleries to remain family-owned for more than 150 years. It has always held a special place in our hearts, though we never seriously imagined having a cask of our own. We have visited many times — first in 2015 — and experienced a kind of hospitality that is hard to find at distilleries now owned by large corporations. After all, how many distilleries would let you taste a whisky nearly 70 years old straight from the cask?

Over the years, our portfolio has included 25 different whiskies, but never one bearing the words GLENFARCLAS HIGHLAND SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY. It is good to have dreams: as the saying goes, “Luck? You have to know how to make your own luck.”

Our 10-year-old Glenfarclas is the first whisky in our history to be bottled directly by the distillery. It is a great honour, as only a few people have had the chance to select their own cask from this iconic distillery. Michał Kortas of Lemon-Art Studio designed a special label for the occasion. The bottle and substantial wooden case will look familiar to anyone who knows Glenfarclas Family Casks bottlings.
